These red neck wine glasses are clever little trashy things, but they are a little spendy for the giggle. At places like Amazon, they cost about $15 a pair… which might seem reasonable, unless you plan on providing one for each of your 20 guests. That’s more dollars than there are on a red neck’s front porch!
So here’s a DIY red-neck wine glasses on a budget.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Red Solo Cups (50/$14)
- Acrylic candle holders (When I purchased these they were 12 for $12)
- Glue ($6.25)
Instructions: Glue the candle holders to the bottom of the cups — and allow at least a full day for them to dry before using them!
Since there were going to be 20 guest walking around with the identical red neck wine glass, I wanted to make it easy for guests to spot their own glass. Of course, the easiest way would be to have guests write their names directly onto the cups. (Why not? It’s a red neck wine glass, after all!) But I felt compelled to class it up just a lil’!
These chalk labels are cute… but I wanted twice as many labels for the same price. (I had some jars I also wanted to label aside from the red neck glasses…) So I spray painted normal labels and BAM. Done.
- Chalk Spray Paint ($3.97)
- Oval Labels ($7.97/90 labels)
Don’t forget! You’ll also need one of these markers or some chalk:
- Chalk Marker ($5.59)
Now sit back, and wait for guests to, …well… hoot and holler with joy, ya’ll!

Love it! You can also check thrift stores/Goodwill for candle holders too. I’ve gotten a few there for other diy projects.
Where did you find the acrylic candle holders?
Sorry for the delayed response – my computer has been in the shop this past week! I got the acrylic candle holders on Amazon — just click on the link (“Red Solo Cups”) and it will take you directly to the Amazon listing!
