Super Bowl Party of Champions

Seahawks Snack Stadium Super Bowl us

Last year we threw our very first Super Bowl party.

We created our very first Snack Stadium (check out how we did it here), rolled out some astroturf, and supplied a keg.

This year, however, we knew we needed to step it up a notch. We are Seattleites, after all, and our team was in the 2014 Super Bowl. And if you know anything about Seahawks fans, it’s that we’re obnoxious and loud very passionate.

So here was our game plan:

Step 1 Give the Snack Stadium a Theme

We took the banker boxes from last year’s stadium, gave it stronger corners, and then re-skinned it with Seahawks theme. (Get the inside scoop on the process here!)

Step 2 Include Guests in the Planning Process.

Last year, we filled the stadium ourselves. While generous, it meant that we had to buy a lot of cheap food to fit our budget. So pretty much, everything in last year’s stadium was a hue of orange. When we opened up the stadium (s)eating for guests to claim and fill:

… the quality of the food was just yum-azing! Homemade pretzels buns, prosciutto and asparagus, stuffed dates, salmon spread… just like the Seahawks, our guests went balls to the wall!

Step 3 Make More Space for Guests

While we have a big living room, we knew we’d still need more seating and drinking areas to accommodate our guests. We purchased a canopy, an outdoor heater, stacked some picnic benches and scavenged for some abandoned industrial spools to create a backyard beer garden. (Check out more pictures here and links!)

Step 4 Adding a Touch of Football to Everything Else

Had I realized how incredibly victorious the Seahawks were going to be, I would have made a lot more than 50 Jell-o shots!

We foster for a Seattle based dog rescue (Ginger’s Pet Rescue) and happened to be fostering a couple of 8 week old chihuahua mixes at the time of the game. We devoted a guest bedroom in the house to our very own Puppy Bowl – now… if we can just get Daft Punk to play at half time…
